Our Story

Where Italy Meets Argentina,
Under California Skies

Saverio grew up in Italy, the land of Sangiovese, and Carolina is from Argentina, where Malbec is the national beverage. Their son Luciano, born in California, is a beautiful blend of their heritage, their love, and their passions.

After a lifetime dedicated to the arts — music and dance — they decided to begin this labor of love in Sage, California, where they planted 2,000 vines and 150 olive trees. Finally, after four long years, they harvested their grapes and made their wine on their estate.

Co-founder

Saverio

Saverio was born in Rome and grew up in Italy till the end of his teenage years, then moved to Los Angeles to follow his passion for music. He has had a successful, extensive career as a songwriter and producer.

He loves to cook and drink good wines, and he believes alchemy is the base of it all. For his whole life he has been studying the art of transformation — notes to melodies, chords to harmonies, sounds to songs… and now grapes to wine.

Co-founder

Carolina

Carolina was born and raised in Argentina and moved to Los Angeles in 1999 to pursue her career as a professional dancer. She has shared world stages and has been featured in videos with an A-list of artists such as Sting, Prince, and Justin Timberlake.

The Next Generation

Luciano

Their son Luciano was born in California — a beautiful blend of their heritage, their love, and their passions. Italy, Argentina, and California: three cultures in one person.

One of their wines carries his name. It is, they say, "full of personality and character and honestly some temper… just like our Luciano." A full-bodied red, rich, deep, and fruity — and perhaps the most honest thing they've ever made.

The Estate

Rooted in Sage

The Principini estate sits in the hills of Sage, California — a remote, quiet valley in Riverside County at 2,550 feet of elevation. The altitude matters: it means cooler nights, slower ripening, and wines with natural freshness and complexity that lower-elevation vineyards have to work hard to achieve.

They planted 2,000 vines and 150 olive trees, choosing varietals that honored their roots: Tannat from the Basque country (and Uruguay), Montepulciano and Sangiovese from central Italy, Vermentino from Sardinia, Malbec from Argentina, and Grenache Blanc — all thriving under the California sun.

Every vine is farmed without pesticides or chemical sprays. Every wine is made with minimal sulfites. Not because it's fashionable, but because it's honest.

"We didn't come from a wine family. We became one. And that, we think, is exactly the point." — Saverio & Carolina Principini
